Dorman Point Hike
Hiking to Dorman Point takes about 45min – 1hr:15min from Snug Cove Ferry Terminal, and about 30min-45min return.
The return distance is 2.5km from Ferry Terminal to Dorman Point and back.
The terrain of the Dorman Point Hike is steep with uneven sections on gravel, and a very steep 200m climb at the end on gravel. Metro Vancouver has finished a construction project making stairs in the previous steeper more slippery gravel sections.
The hike is worth it as it provides an amazing view looking back to Vancouver. Sit on a bench under arbutus trees, and take in the view while those hiking endorphins kick in.
Parking for Dorman Point Hike
Parking for the Dorman Point Hike can happen at:
- Horseshoe Bay; walk on the ferry, turn left towards USSC Marina, follow the Boardwalk, and begin your assent.
- Robinson Road; follow Dorman Point road, and turn left. There is a small parking lot at the end of Robinson Road.
- Davies Field; there is a public gravel parking lot, just left of Dorman Road at the bottom of the hike.
