Course Description

You cover SRAM to Shimano Rear Mech Adjustments, Adjusting Rear Derailleur, Adjusting Front Derailleur, and Bike Gears in General. We cover whatever system it is you have on your bike.

Gain a full understanding of the drive system that moves your bike forward with pedal power. How skips, and dropped shifts occur. Why they will always occur over time & what you can do about it.

How to clean your chain, gears, and mech components.

Have the benefit of learning on your own bike.

Questions are encouraged.

This Shifting, Gear Cleaning Course is for Bowen Islanders & Vancouverites looking to tame their jumpy chain into a smooth operation.

Designed to be flexible, this course is for your schedule, learning style, and your skill level. All you need is your bike, a few hours and a great attitude.

Small class size and skilled instructors allow you to learn in a patient and supportive environment.  

Prerequisites: None. Just pre-book.

Type of bike this class is for:

  • This class is designed for any bike that uses a chain.

  • Bring your own bike or eBike as you will be cleaning, prepping, and working on your own drive system. 

  • If you are unable to bring a bike to class one will be provided for you, but we cannot guarantee that it will have similar components to your personal bike.

Do you have a bike stand for me?

Yes, we have a bike stand for you. If you’d like to practice like you’ll be doing on the ground that is ok too. We can also sell you a bike stand for home use after the course.

You don’t need anything other than your bike. If you would like to purchase the tools necessary to do this at home we have most systems available for purchase. To confirm please call 778-722-2088 with your hydraulic system ready.

No, book online, and schedule any time that works best for you. We suggest Saturdays at 12pm as an example.

Call us, and see if we can run the class now. 778-722-2088. We are more flexible on Friday/Saturday/Sunday for last minute bookings but no guarentees.

Yes, This is an essential skill for anyone at any level of riding. If you’re curious about doing your own maintenance, this is for you!

You choose your friend, and bring them to the course. They can pay separately at the eBike shop or you can pay in advance for two people. We do not book a double slot for one person. You can always book solo, and then pay the difference on the day if a friend wants to join you.
