Course Description

This class covers bleeding hydraulic brakes.

Gain a full understanding of the brake system, a professional brake bleed procedure, and the skills necessary for maintaining your brakes well.

Have the benefit of learning on your own bike.

Questions are encouraged.

Learn how to:

  • Bleed your brake system

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve common and system-specific problems

  • Inspect Pads and rotors for wear. 

  • Understand the bedding-in procedure for brake pads.

  • Do this procedure solo with the confidence and knowledge to do it safely.

  • Hands-On Practice with your own brake system.

  • Bleed technique through flushing fluid, eliminating air, and lubricating moving parts.

This Bike Brake Bleed Course is for Bowen Islanders looking to tame their hydraulic systems, or urban commuter tired of shop wait times, to a would-be mechanic looking to break into the trade.

Designed to be flexible, this course is for your schedule, learning style, and your skill level. All you need is your bike, a few hours and a great attitude.

Small class size and skilled instructors allow you to learn in a patient and supportive environment.  

Prerequisites: None; at a minimum you should be able to remove and re-install your bike wheel.

Type of bike this class is for:

  • This class is designed for any bike from eBike to road bike to mountain bike with Hydraulic Brakes.

  • Bring your own bike or eBike as you will be practicing bleeding your own bike system. 

  • If you are unable to bring a bike to class one will be provided for you, but we cannot guarantee that it will have similar components to your personal bike.

Do you have a bike stand for me?

Yes, we have a bike stand for you.

You don’t need anything other than your bike. If you would like to purchase the tools necessary to do this at home we have most systems available for purchase. To confirm please call 778-722-2088 with your hydraulic system ready.

No, book online, and schedule any time that works best for you. We suggest Sundays at 3pm as an example.

Call us, and see if we can run the class now. 778-722-2088. We are more flexible on Friday/Saturday/Sunday for last minute bookings but no guarentees.

Brake Bleeds are an advanced skill, but if you’re interested in learning, we’re here to teach. This is not the course for absolute beginners, but if you’ve thought about expanding your skillset, this is a great skill to add on.

Yes, brake fluid is included in the price of the class. 

You choose your friend, and bring them to the course. They can pay separately at the eBike shop or you can pay in advance for two people. We do not book a double slot for one person. You can always book solo, and then pay the difference on the day if a friend wants to join you.
